Daytime running lights..

I thought I searched good enough but could not find the answer I was looking for. The vehicle I'm planning on getting in the next week (http://tinyurl.com/3bkk4hz) has DRL. I saw the thread about how to disable them by pulling the fuse, BUT, does anyone know if they go off when you manually turn the fog lights on?

Just checked:

Fogs = ON, DRL = OFF

But can you have the fogs on without the headlights being on?

I believe when you turn it to O, you can turn on just the fogs and/or parking lights and use fogs.. One or the other, I know I have had fogs on with no headlight in a parking lot before.

I just tested it. Fogs can be turned on manually with park lights or full headlights only. But, with park lights on + fogs, as soon as Drive is engaged, the DRL activate. The only time DRLs are off is with headlights on or not in Drive mode.

Therefore, fogs on does not cancel DRLs.

Wow, guess I may end up pulling the fuses. Thanks for the effort guys!

That's a legal requirement here in Oregon. It's against the law to drive with fogs and/or parking lights on and headlights off. (Dunno why.)

Why do people want to disable DRL?

Why do people want to disable smog? Ride motorcycles without helmets?
Because people want to do what they are not supposed to do. Human nature.

Theres no law here in MI requiring vehicles to have them. I just don't care for the look persronally, I understand I can't see them when I'm driving, but even on other vehicles they irk me. Must be my OCD knowing they are on. And for the record, I've had my WK2 for 2 weeks now and have not disabled them yet heh.

I hate drl because one headlight turns off when you use your turn signal. Makes the jeep look jacked up.
