Overland Question

I'm exploring getting an additional WK2 or a Wrangler, but I have a question. QL is standard on the Overland, but you still have to buy a ORP to get skid plates etc. Why would they market it that way. What is QL for other than off-road? Are many of you using QL off-road without skidplates, etc.?

Re: Overland Question

I dunno, those of us with short legs like that its lowers itself and its easier to get in an out, some of us like the option of just raising it to change oil instead of getting ramps and/or jacks out... oh it may be useful if you ever get high centered on a snow drift... some of us like the lowered sport mode for spirited low CG driving where raised rocks is not a problem... some of us like the smoother ride... :)

Re: Overland Question

What is QL for other than off-road:

I lower it to let my elderly mother in the Jeep, or load my bike in the rack (park mode).
I lower it on twisty mountain roads (sport mode).
I raise it to OR2 for extra snow clearance on city streets in the winter.
I raise it to OR1 for more shock absorption and comfort on dirt/gravel roads.
I raise it to OR2 to change my oil.

Hope this helps,
NB

LOL, so you do know. So lots of uses on-road. I'm just trying to decide what to get. So used to seeing the QL going over rocks and not a short person getting into the jeep.

Re: Overland Question

Nbtstatic,

So is it "OK" to drive in Park mode? Sooner or later I'm going to forget that I left it in the park setting when I pull out of my garage.

Thanks,
Albert

It will raise itself when it senses speed above some threshold like 5 mph.
