LOCKPICK CHR550 vs iPhone 4 iOS 5

Having an iPhone App Developer account I have the ability to download the new operating software iOS 5 for the iPhone 4. Bluetooth and standard IPOD hook up work perfectly with the new software. I have the 730 RER so cannot report on the streaming capabilities.

My only problem is that when I plug my iPhone into the LOCKPICK unit it works for about 3 seconds and says this is not an iPhone Supported accessory and shuts off the app and charging ability. The iPhone obviously recognizes the LOCKPICK as being a 3rd party creation thus not allowing use of it. I could be wrong but thats the easy assumption. They have something in the iPhone that says "Were not making money on this product, SHUT DOWN!"

Probably going to have to wait for an updated patch from CoastalTech, who knows how long that will be. I am going to give them a call tomorrow. Will keep you guys updated but for now the CHR550 is dead to me.

So I just spent a few minutes looking at the CHR550 and I took out the stock cable that they send you which is like trying to work fire hose in the first place. I then hooked up this cable - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC...co=MjAyNDI1OTU - using the tab for A/V Out I was able to view the screen on my phone. Many other companies make a comparable cord that is compatible with iPhone. I do not know why the other cord is giving me issues right now.

I have iOS on my iPhone 4 and have no connection issues with my iPhone 4. The only time I get the message you see is when the car is remote started. Once I get in and start it, the message goes away. Its the same thing when I plug it into the USB port as well.

The only problem I'm having on my 08 rer is when I plug my ipod touch and play music through ipod out, I can't foward through the other songs with the sterring wheel controls. There is supposedly an update on coastal tech's website for the chr-550. I tried the link but says it was not found on server. Has anyone got ahold of this update?
