730N RHR Deletes Addresses

I have had my Overland for four months with no problems, except the 730N RHR continually deletes my Home Address and all entries in the Address Book. I re-enter all information and within in 2 weeks all is deleted again. I would appreciate any comments regarding the following questions:
1. Does anyone have a 730N RHR that does not delete the Home Address and all information in the Address Book?
2. Has anyone encountered this problem and had it fixed, and if so, what fix was applied?
3. Has anyone encountered this problem and got a new 730N RHR that resolved the problem?
Thanks, Larry

I seem to remember reading about this problem and it may be caused by using different fobs. Do you us the same keyless FOB everytime ? If not then the FOB remembers many settings including Satnav addresses.

I have lost home on mine many times and I cannot figure out why. There are other threads on this subject but no solution that has worked for me. I think the two different seat settings do make changes but I only use 1 and still continue to set home multiple times. I have not seen any updates come out yet for this radio.

I have the same problem on my 2012 Overland. I only use one key fob.

I only use one key FOB (same all the time) and never push any of it's buttons.

One driver, one FOB, one seat setting, home address is forgotten within days, nice feature for a $3000 radio. You would think by now Harmon would have a fix for this and the few other nuisances that distract from an otherwise decent radio.

I entered my home address as one of the favorites, but I just routinely just pick it from the recent places list.

I have been looking but have not seen a fix.

I've had the Jeep for 4 months also, here are my 730N strange behaviors.

Lost home address twice so far. Same key, nothing changed. Solution. Like ColdCase keep it in recently used.

Lost volume of FM twice. AM, SAT and ipod all OK. Solution. Shut down engine and restart. Reported by at least one other member.

Total loss of Volume once. Audio control in Setup actually greyed out. Solution. Shut down system no help. Sent an incoming call to my cell phone and it reactivated the Volume.

Bizarre behavior of voice command navigation. Try finding a POI near destination and it lists pages of a strange restaurant hundreds of miles away.
This all seems to be more than bugs in the software since they are so unpredicatble. I'm not holding my breath for a software fix. Maybe a new version might help.

Good news at least for me is that the problems have been few and far between and overall I find this unit to be a step up from the portable Garmin I had.
Only true dissappointment is lack of ability to receive and send text messages and that may be a phone issue not the 730N.

I've had this problem. I've lost home several times. One fob. I have changed my seat memory a couple times, as the vehicle is new and i'm figuring all that stuff out. My wife's 2011 durango (same radio) has this same issue. Also since someone mentioned it, voice command nav is completely useless on this radio.

I have the same problem with my 730N 2011 GC Overland, in addition mine forgets all phonebook entries that I have saved to the hardrive via voice command. Loss of the phonebook entries is very frustrating, forgetting my home address is a minor inconvenience. Seems to lose both phone book and home every week. I use only one Key FOB.

This is a widespread problem and I think ALL owners of the 730N are experiencing this. Is there one owner with this system that will save the home address and any entries in the address book? I took mine in this week and there is no fix for it. The stealer said they will contact Chrysler. We need Everyone to pay a visit to the dealer to get this going.

I inserted a poll about the RHR's disappearing memories, and if you haven't already done so please add your experience. But even though it hasn't been up but some hours, it seems that the problem may be the norm, not an exception.

So, dumb question perhaps, but with all the talent and experience at JG isn't there a way a responsible individual at Chrysler or the RHR manufacturer could be contacted?

Who knows why disappearing memories has been an issue since the RHR was released in January -- it could be as simple as the person who should know about this hasn't been told or given authorization to make the fix. Bureaucracies tend to work this way, and it is compounded when it involves two bureaucracies (Chrysler and the RHR manufacturer).

There has to be something abnormal, because this is most likely a software issue that, at worst, should take a few weeks to code and test for release. A hardware issue, tho unlikely, would also be relatively quick to remedy.

Great to see this. We need a fix.
