How to install Viper Tilt Sensor for Viper 5901 on a 2005 Grand Cherokee

I was wondering if anyone knows how to isntall the Viper tilt sensor? I had a shop install the 5901 unit in my 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited, but heard that it was cheaper and not too hard to install the tilt sensor on my own. Problem is, don't know where to start! ha
Would really appreciate some help. Thanks

Viper makes it easy. There is a 3 pin aux sensor port on the side of the main control module, the tilt sensor plugs into that. There is no setup as it's a digital sensor, just install it wherever and you are done. It will automatically recalibrate itself every time you arm the alarm.

Cool! Good to know in case I decided to do this. As far as the sensor, it literally just sounds the alarm or chirps the remote if your jeep is titled correct? Like if someone where to jack it up to steal wheel or try and tow it away I assume?

May look into plugging one in soon! - It just plugs into the side of the main brain thats under the dash, correct? I had a place do my install as this was well over my head and I wasnt trying to fry the entire jeep haha - but i can def find the module and plug a sensor in

Yup, just plugs in and the system will automatically recognize it. The sensor will detect as little as 1.5 degrees of tilt (about 1/2 a pump with a hydralic jack or 2 cranks with a manual one)
