My '05 has a ticking sound that i can't find.I've replaced the rear e-brake shoes after reading that's what was wrong for so many others, but mine were not too bad. I had 1 that was loose, but no marks from dragging, being it was apart ,i changed them anyway, but it's still there! It almost a card in spoke sound(bike) whenever i hear it, i turn the radio off,but it's not consistent & i cant pinpoint it. Any ideas?
It could be rocks getting caught in your tire tread. Jack up the suspected wheel and see if there is any play(could be a bearing but thats usually a humming noise). Check the u joints for play...I was stumped forever on where the ticking was coming from on mine as it was the e-brake shoes but those are a few other things I checked. Also check the dust covers behind your rotors.
it's not rocks in the tires.just did the brakes not to long ago and there was no interference with the covers. its not always there. I havent been able to hear it with the windows down yet ,wind noise is too much. Its driving me nuts, i HATE noises.
