Calling all experienced window-weld users

So, is 3M's WindowWeld the secret to perfect re-sealing of headlight assemblies after opening them up? Are you guys using the liquid (caulk-like) stuff, or the ribbon material? I'm looking to get some so I have it on hand for when I decide to bake my headlights.

So you just place it on either the lens or the fixture, and squeeze the two pieces together? Any idea where I might be able to score a roll? Looks like VatoZone only carries the caulk stuff

napa/ if they dont have it in store they can order it.

I KNOW NOTHING about WJ

so can only tell you on wk theere is a channel that holds the glue. you scrape out 100% of the old glue and the thinnest WW fits in there. I heated it up in the oven like that with the ww in. then put the lens on and clamped it all together for 24 hours.

yep, i used the ribbon style one. As rob said for the WK, there's a channel so after you scrape off the old glue i put a layer "in" there. I put another layer over it to be sure of no leak.

what they said ^

after you lay the ribbon in the channel, heat it up before you press the lens on. Clamp it on and let it cool. you'll be GTG!
