New Member & A Question -- Saddle Interior

Greetings from Lincoln, Nebraska.

I recently sold my 2008 Range Rover Sport HSE and am pulling the trigger on a new Overland this week.

I am going with brilliant black exterior for sure, however, I am torn between the New Saddle Interior (non-Summit / black dash) verses the full black interior.

I know this is personal preference, however, how does the new saddle look in the flesh compared to the black interior?
(If I go with new saddle / black dash, I will have to get one brought in as all the dealer has are Summit Overlands and I prefer the black dash).

Thank you.

Tom

Looks great, I like the all black better but have a lighter car. I don't think you can't go wrong with either but there has been some complaints about saddle fading.

When I picked up my car there were about four salesman and the owner arguing about which is the better interior... you can't go wrong with either you will have to take a look, take along someone you trust for a second opinion.

In my opinion the black is just so much more classier than the saddle, the saddle looking like an old duff color scheme to me, where the black is full of youth... you either love or hate the saddle, I don't like it. I special ordered a black interior and when it came in there were several buyers sorry they bought the saddle. ... a couple others that weren't.. It was hard to find an overland with the black interior at that time.

Are you getting a 2011 or a 2012?

Most likely a 2012 now. Unless, however, the dealer will work with me on the 2011 leftovers. I understand a 6 speed transmission is standard on the 5.7L.

I have been looking at BMW X5's for the past two months and they have had the 2012's out since late May.

What engine?

If it's a 2012 with a V6 you want, there's one en route to Lincoln now.

edit: just noticed, you probably want the 5.7L V8 Hemi

Thank you for the heads up. However, I need the V8 for towing.

In my opinion, the Saddle interior elevates the class of the vehicle and really gives it a distinctive touch. I waited months for my custom order just so I could get the Saddle/Black combo. Pics are in the post below (interior pics in post #5).

Also, pictures don't do the color justice, you really have to see it in person. It's pure class! Go with the Saddle.

My Overland is white with saddle and I really like it. It is 5 months old and the leather stills looks like new. I did not get a Summit because I wanted the black dash.

I have the new saddle/black in my blackberry pearl overland. I love it. in addition to the dash being black the door trim is also black. The summit had too much saddle going on for my taste.

I have the Mineral Gray with Saddle/Black. I love the look with the black dash and saddle stiching. Very classy.

The saddle/black is very classy indeed. Probably the nicest interior I've ever had.

Same here. As others have stated, saddle on the dash was a bit overwheming for me.
See it in person. Pictures can be very deceiving making it look too orange.
