Flex Fuel

So as I was running errands this morning I ended up behind a 6 cylinder WK2. I noticed that there was a badge on the lower right of the rear hatch that said Flecx Fuel. I don't have that badge, nor would I want it. Was this a 2012 or what?

2011 Came with it. Flex Fuel means that they can run on E85 Gas.

I have a 2011 6 cylinder flex-fuel GC that has no badge. It is noted only on the gas cap. Seems to be a regional thing.

i see tons of base-V6 WK2s around here with the badge. A majority of them appear to be rentals. Maybe a fleet thing?

Interesting thoughts. The vehicle had Kentucky tags. I am in Albany, NY. They might be horse owners here for Saratoga, so regional idea might make sense. Maybe a law or something.

All of the base Laredos that I looked at when I was shopping for mine had the badge. The other trim levels didn't.

That makes sense too. Might be a rental. On the other hand my dealer had a lot of base Laredo's when the wk2 first came out and they did not have the badge. By the way he still has a lot of 2011 base Laredo's!:D

My 2011 Overland does not have the badge but does have the yellow gas cap and E85 notice inside the fuel door.

On a side note I tried a tank of E85 and my mileage dropped from a 21 MPG to 16 MPG. No more E85 for me.
