Still working on brake upgrades...

I have been collecting parts to upgrade my brakes. The heat shrink tubing I ordered to cover the braided stainless lines arrived today. It has a yellow tint to it (ordered clear). It is a high temp (135C operating temp), 4:1 shrink tube that started out as 1" ID. The inner layer melts to something similar to hot glue and adheres to what ever it shrinks on. It was also a little thicker than I had envisioned... I painted the front calipers and rotor hats with caliper paint. I am still waiting on my rear center braided stainless line, EBC pads

Goodridge lines before shrink tube:

After (with a piece of the shrink tubing beside it):

Very nice! Im sure you will be happy with the braking performance when you are done.

Two questions, did the calipers come painted or did you paint them? and what pads are you using?

I painted the calipers myself using VHT caliper paint. If I ever replace them again, I will have them powder coated. I am going to use EBC Yellowstuff pads on the front and Wagner Quick Stop pads on the rear.

Nice paint job! I see you used the right type caliper paint.

Where did you get those rotors? How much?

They are R1Concepts rotors.

Front:http://www.r1concepts.com/jeep-grand...-EDS.67042.htm
Rear:http://www.r1concepts.com/jeep-grand...-EDS.67043.htm

With the EBC pads, these rotors and trhe braided stainless lines I no longer worry about stopping in time. No more brake fade.

Nice find. I went with DBA drilled and slotted rotors from Stillen. The hats came already painted a gold color but I paid alot more, even with a wholesale discount!
