WKs on Black Bear Pass

It was a good trail run. Kinda rushed by the weather. I wish I could have continued on to Imogene Pass with Mark & his wife. No_One is an awesome trail boss + spotter. Props to Mark for braving these trails with his WK in the middle of a looooong road trip. A true testamonial that WKs are very off road capable. I was tail gunner, so these were all the pics I could squeeze out. I was pleased with the performance of my RK lift and disconnected both swaybars. Maybe it didn't even matter, because there was enough 3-wheel action going on for everybody... probably just part of wheeling a WK. After our descent on the switchbacks came a gusty shower that triggered a small slide somewhere above me. I heard two hits on what seemed to be the roof and saw one cantaloupe-sized rock ricochet off me. Upon investigation at the base of Bridal Veil Falls, it apparently bounced off my rear flipper glass and continued downhill, leaving three minor chips. I also noticed a dinger behind my passenger side rear fender bulge. I guess that was the other hit. A small price to pay for having Black Bear allow me to traverse it once again.

I'm stoked that you all like the pics. I run these trails annually in the TJ. If I wasn't so familiar with the area, they probably wouldn't have been as good. I'm willing to meet up for these trails anytime. Just make sure your brakes are up-to-par and bring an extra pair of undies for this one!

That's No_One here in the JG. Superlift, American Racing Teflon 20's. Pretty slick WK... an even better fellow Jeeper

Excellent pics! Looks like a blast! Was it Mark's Jeep with the tire carrier on the hitch? Anymore info on this?

Yep, that was Mark. Forgot to ask him though. He was still packin' a spare in the stock location. Mounted into the 2" receiver with a single post strait up.

Hmm, looks like a pretty snazy setup. I'll have to find out more about that as my 33" spare sucks in the back of the jeep. lol.
