2011 Jeep WK2 RER to RHR upgrade - Help needed

I just upgraded my head unit from the RER (with Sat/Nav) to the RHR (Sat/Nav). It was simple process, but looking at the connectors on the back the RER had a split GPS and SDAR antenna connector, along with AM/FM connector, so 3 connectors total. The RHR combines the GPS and SDAR antenna into a single connector, so only have 2 input connectors.

I left the GPS antenna wire off, and connected the SDAR and AM/FM antennas. Everything seems to be functioning fine, even GPS w/Traffic link. I understand the traffic data is coming from Satellite so should work.

Anyone know what I should be missing by not having the GPS antenna? I would assume signal strength, but my signal seems to be good, and I'm getting positioning and coordinates, etc.

Any ideas on wiring here or provide details wrt to the GPS antenna? I'm thinking that since I had an RER, and have the Sat/Nav already, the SDARS antenna is also providing GPS reception. (this is wild guess).

Any thoughts?

The antenna with the yellow connector is supposed to be a dual GPS/SAT antenna on the WK2 so you are not missing anything.

Thanks, I was assuming ( hated to do that) that the antenna was already dual since I was getting both GPS and Sat reception. It's interesting though as my jeep was manufactured after Jan. so should have had the RHR, perhaps a shortage caused them to use the dual antenna, and just split the GPS to support the RER. I did not want to have to trace the wires back and replace the antenna so I hooked it up to see what worked, and low and behold everything seemed to work great. The RHR works well with my iPhone for BT streaming and supports the traffic/weather. I'll get through the honeymoon with the RHR and if all is well, I'll be putting my RER up for sale soon after!
