mystery leak???

Ok, my jeeps driver's side rear seat has randomly been collecting water in the area under the seat. Any thoughts as to what this could be?

It makes no sence to me, as this never gets the leather wet but the carpet under the seat is soaking, the carpet where you put your feet in the back seat isn't wet either when this happens.

could be a leak from windsheild. if you have a sunroof, it could be a stopped up drain.

I checked the head liner and everything I possibly could, but there was no sign of water comming in from anywhere, I know that the seal on that door near the roof isn't sealed correctly and leaks in car washes, but that isn't where the water is coming in from.

I think that it's coming in from under the car but I have no clue where!?

There are drain that are under the jeep but very unlikely to be leaking. If you have a sunroof, blow out the drains. They are a big culprit.

That would be very strange if it was coming from underneath. Maybe someones pulling your chain. :) No seriously though if its not coming from the sunroof and your windows are closed?? How much water? And you have no open water bottles, etc right?

I do have a sun-roof, can you describe to me where the drains are?

Open the sunroof and look at the insides of the track. You can see the holes that are he drains. usually towards the front of the sunroof.

I lifted up the base of the right rear seat and put my back pac down (as I normally do) only to find a puddle under my seat! I had a towel that day and used it to absorb it, but I thought it was just a one time deal so I went about my bussiness and it did it again but this time I had put my friends jackt under that seat, and when he got it back it was soaking wet, hehe. So now I'm concerned about it.

gently try to force some air/water into the drain...yes

Re: mystery leak???

Your drain goes from your sunroof track down your pillar post. They clog up allot, just use compressed air and blow it out.

I think I know whats wrong. In my Jeep I was having some water near the gas pedal but this could be some what related to yours. After it rained so hard one day I decided to go out to get something to eat. Once I opened my door I saw some water draining passed the seal. So my door wasn't sealing against the rubber seal correctly. So that's the problem I have been having. Next time is rains look around the seals of the door and see if you have any water leaking through.
