Radio/Window Power Draw-Off
OK, here we go! 2003 Grand Cherokee. As we all probably know, the radio and the windows continue to be powered after the vehicle ignition is switched OFF, for about 60 seconds OR until a door is opened.
I installed an aftermarket radio, to take advantage of XM, HD Radio, and my iPhone. I used a standard connector to plug the new radio right into the vehicle. The windows still work after the ignition is turned off, but the radio shuts off immediately.
My question is: Is there a DIFFERENT power lug I should use in the connector, or is this functionality built into the radio itself? I can't imagine the latter, as power is power; it must be coming from somewhere in order for the factory radio to continue to work. So, I am thinking that there is another line in the harness that does this.
Anyone have any ideas? I know this is no biggie, but it WOULD be nice for it to continue to work like the factory radio does.
Thanks again for everyone's info and assistance!
