Yep, new motor, possibly some new fluids in your diffs, transfercase and trans dependant on the level of water and time spent in the puddle after the explosion.

Welcome to the forum, sorry its under such crappy circumstances. Good luck!

All that in only a foot & half? Did you ford it or barge through it like a Mazda commercial? I'll be sure to do the opposite in case I come across the same scenario.

Thanks guys. Yeah I was looking to register to some forums to begin with now I definitely needed some advice. I know for a fact i'll need a new engine I was just making sure there's not other way around it by changing some parts maybe. Its a baby only 35k on it.

It didn't spend much time in the water at all. Anyone know whether jeep warranties the new motor?

any damage to the block?

So I dont have to do the whole foot in mouth later ill say mopar will likely not cover the motor, water in the engine is kindof considered "outside the scope of normal wear and tear"... if you have full coverage I have seen it covered by auto insurance before.

If I were you I would personally want a new motor... I would not want to piece together a motor on my baby if it had 35k miles when the motor failed in the first place because water stopped it dead in its tracks spinning at 1200 rpms. besides, parts that MUST be replaced would require the motor be pulled anyway so you may as well just drop a fresh one in.

Idk if there's damage to the block yet the shop is waiting for the ok from the insurance to open it up. Im wondering whether the new motor if I get it through jeep will be warrantied. I should consider a hemi haha
