12 Volt power outlet in rear cargo area

I was looking for a way to get the 12 volt outlook in the rear cargo area to be on all the time instead of on just when the ignition is on.

Looked at the fuse box and M7 controls this circuit. All that is need is to move the fuse over one notch and its on all the time. Nowhere in the owners manual do I see refferance to this but on the fusebox lid M7 is marked as selectable.

Nice feature if you need it.

Interesting :) I'd like to do a mod like this!

Thank you IndyBob. That is a rare post indeed.

It is useful information and it isn't in the owner's manual.

Re: 12 Volt power outlet in rear cargo area

Will making this mod only affect the 12v outlet in the rear cargo area or all 12v outlets in the vehicle?

Yes, only that outlet. Just made the change, and the front outlet is still ties to ACC, while the rear outlet is unswitched. Handy for us, as we recently purchased a 12V mini-oven for trips and tailgaiting. For what it's worth, that oven is nicely designed, but at only 140W isn't good for much more than warming things up very slowly.

Thanks Indybob, I was wondering if it was switched or not. I don't have my vehicle yet, but will be putting in two 10" Infinity Kappa subs that need a rem line for the two RFamps.

Ditto, and a sterling example of why JG is so helpful. Where else can you find juicy little goodies like this but at JG?:arms:

I'm surprised this isn't mentioned in the owners manual. When I had a 2005 Dodge Magnum, it had the same feature and it was illustrated in the owners manual.

Read in the "other forum" doing his makes the center console one change. Guess not. Tried it and doesn't work. I was hoping to make the deep center console plug to go on and off with the ignition(so I can keep the kids DVD player plugged in there but not stay on all the time). No way to do that?
