P 0158 Code

I already looked it up and it says: O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
Oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above normal operating range.

In the last few months it has consistently been me paying for a repair and then a new problem occurs.Last thursday had a new starter installed and on saturday I start it up to find a engine light.I know the repairs aint causing the problems but you can all understand how annoying it is to routinely have issues on your truck.Turned the key 3 times to get the P 0158 code.Anyway my question is since I am not seeing any problems as far as driving it can I let this go for a few months? I have easily spent a grand on this thing this summer and I need a break.Any info is appreciated and if you have a idea how to change the sensor and can post it in pure idiot form as I am in no way mechanical that would be great.Thanks.

Yes, you probably can go a month or so...but it will hurt your pocket in crappier fuel economy and can eventually do other damage. To save yourself another expense later, PLEASE get a replacement from the dealer. Autozone and Advance sensors SUCK. They just screw into the exhaust and plug into a harness. Very simple...the PITA is getting it loose. They are usually on there pretty good.

Replace with a new sensor. WERMOPAR.COM

You need a special socket to remove the sensor. Summit and some of the parts stores might have them.

Sensor 2 issues won't cause any driveability problems. They are the ones after the cat and are just there to monitor how well the cat is working. The problem here is the sensor always wears out before the cat does.
