2012 Jeep SRT8 sold out!

Here's an excerpt from an article about the Frankfurt auto show.

"Chrysler's Jeep brand launched its most powerful Jeep vehicle ever, the Grand Cherokee SRT8. SRT stands for street and racing technology and the limited edition Cherokee will achieve 0-100 kilometers per hour (0-60 mph) in 4.8 seconds -- and hit a top speed of 255 kilometers per hour (158 mph).
Jeep CEO Michael Manley said all of the 4,000 planned for production in 2012 have been sold to dealers."

Here's the link to the article if needed.

4000 now? So now 800 more than the previous gen at it's highest run. Quite the limited addition

I thought they said only 3,800 would be built?

In what automotive world do you live in that 4000 units is not a limited production?

This is no surprise to me, nice truck and apparantly 4000 people thought at a nice enough price :D

Thats all that really matters from a business standpoint, this will allow them to keep pushing forward with the Jeeps and continue having success aka putting out nice autos.

Marginally high the SRT8 is priced sure, but its heads and tails above anything else the company offers, regardless of what anyone "thinks". Fact is its better, as to how much $$$ worth better, well that has clearly varied. I will say the majority on here dont think $10k better so clearly this wasn't aimed at GEN1 owners.

Hopefully we get enough on this forum so we can actually see it and how it progresses throughout its life. Cant wait till the PCM is broken and we can really see what this things capable of

That's not the point. The point is one of the reasons Chrysler gave for the large increase in price was the limited production. The previous gen had far less units produced (if the 4000 units for 2012 is correct, about 20% less at it's height).

Also, the statement "all of the 4,000 planned for production in 2012 have been sold to dealers" does NOT mean that all 4,000 units are ordered units from individuals.

your posts are becoming very very annoying. Please go to the red site and do your constant complaining with the rest of them.

And BTW, Jeep SELLS their vehicles to dealers. So if all 4,000 units are gone to dealers, then Jeep has done their business. Dealerships are privately owned and sell the vehicle to the customer.

Those #s of WK's produced weren't production limitations, but sales limitations. Totally different animal and 100% why we saw $6,000 cash rebates from Jeep on those.

And the parts on the Jeep weren't exclusive to the WKSRT8. It was the standard Jeep, with plastic added, a borrowed transfer case, an engine that was not much different than the 5.7, (minus few parts changes) and a set of brakes.
