My ETC light is flashing
 
Im new to the website i'm from Houston, tx having problems right now with my Jeep i so want to cry. But does anyone know anything about the Electronic Throttle Control? It's a 2005 grand cherokee 5.7 L it was working fine lastnight and when i tried to go somewhere this afternoon to didnt want to start i thought i left a light on but didnt :( anyways i noticed that my (ETC) light was flashing and the traction light was on too. i have no idea what to do can someone HELP :)

Did you verify that the battery is charged? If so, try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes.

No haven't checked the battery yet or done anything waiting for husband to get home cause im so clueless on cars :(but thanks for the advice i will try it

lol im learning that now i only has had it alil over a year and i try so hard to take care of it

This could be MANY things, as some have mentioned I have seen a couple ETC cars go stupid and simply require a relearn with vehicle that have had battery issues (2 in the last couple weeks, neither I worked on but coworkers). Especially if your on the original battery its got to be on its last leg!

I have also seen dead PCM's cause throttle control issues, faulty throttle bodys, accelerator pedal position sensor issues... seeing codes stored or active its hard to even narrow down the concern let alone diagnose over the internet. Ultimately what I am getting at is there is not a super common failure that we can point you at blindly with your concern.
