Any experience with low offset wheels?

Does anyone here have any experiences with lower offset wheels on their WK?I'm eyeing a pair of 18 x 9 rims with 0 offset and 5 in backspacing. I think i did the math right and it would push each wheel out about 2.75 inches.

I'm currently running 245/70/17 A/T on the stock ronin II wheels, which have about 50 mm offset. If I did make the change to the wheels, what change to the tire width do I need to make to avoid rubbing on the fenders?

I also have concerns are about extra stress on the wheel bearings and how the extra wide stance will affect the handling of the Jeep.

Mine has 4.75" spacing so it's very close to what you're looking at doing.

Thanks. The pics really helped me. If I run 245's I should have the same amount sticking out.

Do you find that the jeep handles differently with the wider stance? I'm up here in New England where we get 100 inches of the white stuff and this needs to be a daily driver for a 40 mile commute.

Nice ride. Hopefully mine will look as good when I'm done

Thanks. The only difference I've noticed with handling is that it rides better with the extra cushion of the bigger tires. Other than that it's not any different at all. I say go for it. I don't regret my choice one bit. I think these jeeps look much better with a wider stance.

Thanks. Yeah, the headlights will for sure be changed/painted in the future. Haven't decided yet exactly which way I want to go.
