i'm finally a jeep owner, but I'm looking for some more information on how QT1 performs, i recently purcahse a laredo x mineral grey with QT1.
Wondering how it performs in snow/ice/mud etc.. basically what I can and can't do so i don't break anything:D

I think tires will be the limiting factor but QT1 is more than capable, especially compared to some of the CUV's on the market.

It came with all season tires when I bought it, so out here in Minnesota when we get 40 inches of snow in 1 month I should never worry about going out in it?

I wouldn't worry too much about that, QT1 shouldn't have any issue in our winters.

If you don't mind, PM where you bought your Jeep, I would be curious to see what your experience was like.

I would seriously invest in a set of snow tires given the amount of snow you get in Minnesota. The all terrain tires that come stock on the laredo x are definitely lacking in the snow.

dahlberg - I'm new to the forum - i tried to send you a msg and said something about me having to post 10 times before i can send a message.

So snow tires honestly make a difference on the WK2's... Just seems crazy what really are the differences I've been reading about it on the net but more for cars

Snow tires will make a difference on ANY vehicle. Remember that the AWD/4WD will mainly help in going...tires will make a difference in doing just about anything else in the snow. Traction is actually more important for SUVs IMO since there is more weight to stop.

That said, I have managed fine in the Boston area with AWD and all-season tires for years. I should get separate rims and snows for winter but at a cost of over $1000 it's been hard to pull the trigger.

Here's an alternative- Tho I had no problem with the Latitude Tours here in upstate NY last winter, I did not venture far. Since I do go to the Adirondacks on day trips and want better overall snow control, I plan to switch to more aggressive all season tires. No not A/T tires as they are not always as quiet or smooth on the road as all seasons. I think I will go to Michelin LTX M/S 2's.
