Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2012 4x4 Overland.
Expect it to be ordered rather than in stock.
What are current realistic order-to-delivery times?
Part of me says to just order it and get it in as soon as possible.
Another part says getting it around my birthday (end of Nov) would be nice.
Another part says getting it for Christmas would be nice.
It will be:
4x4 Overland, Deep Cherry
Saddle/Black
Hemi
Off Road II
Tech Package
Engine Block Heater
Basically everything except chrome package and rear entertainment package.
What would be realistic delivery times for this vehicle?
Are we talking probable 4 weeks, 8 to 12 weeks, or what?
Thanks for any info.
Dave

It took my Overland exactly 60 days from order to purchase.

There is a wide variation observed, most of it in the rail delivery portion. 6 weeks would be a very good time, 8 weeks a little better than the average, many have waited 12 weeks, some 16 weeks or more. As with any probability, you could get lucky or unlucky. I seen one delivered in 4 weeks, but everything fell in line, no part delays, no waiting for a rail car.

Order it now, but delay picking it up until you are ready.

If your Jeep is not delivered by rail, its a bit easier to predict.

My 2012 Overland took exactly 18 days from order to delivery with my name on it. I was amazed!

My Overland was ordered on August the 10th, 2011 and it was on the dealers lot September 9th, 2011. One month order to delivery.

It took 15 weeks last year when I ordered my Overland. Ordered in July got it in October.

one factor is where you live. It took 11 days from the date it was put on the train until it was delivered to my dealer (in san diego). this seems to be typical for deliveries in my area.

I ordered the vehicle on 8/4, it was built on 8/18, put on a mysterious hold for 11 days or so, then they took a few days to stage it, and then the 11 day train ride (which includes a few days to unload at a depot and trunk it to my dealership which was about 1hr away)

All in all, a little over 40 days, and that includes the hold.

I ordered an Overland 4X4 on 9/12 at a dealer in Jacksonville FL. I just called the 800 number to check on the status and they said it went into production 10/10 and ETA was 11/4. I would figure 6/8 weeks unless you get really lucky. When you look at the order tracking from Mileous, it seems like the SRT8's build quicker (?).

Re: Realistic order-to-delivery times 4x4 Overland

Last year there were a couple of events that delayed deliveries. A QC issue in Sept a hold to build durango's in Dec and some delays for the Summit and the saddle interior. Hopefully those first year issues don't delay 2012 builds.

The details on my order are in my signature.
