Rubber trim around front windshield

I have a 2011 JGC Overland. The rubber trim at the bottom of the front windshield on the driver side has warped, resulting in a gap between the trim and the windshield along a 3 to 4 inch section under the wiper blade. Dealer said to keep an eye on it to see if debris collects in the gap. I am debating whether or not to insist the trim be replaced, considering it is not a large gap and fearing the cure will be worse than the disease. Has anyone had this problem and has the dealer successfully replaced/repaired the trim?

I believe that I did read about this is on this forum awhile ago and the owner wanted it replaced. Sorry I can't remember details.

I had the same problem and the dealer did replace it but the new one is warping as well.

6 months, 9400 miles and no warp. That is weird.

Colorado Springs? Arizona? Doesn't seem to be related to ambient heat, at any rate.

Wind during high-speed driving pushing up on the seal?

I took mine to the dealer today, and the dealer took pictures to send to Chrysler. While there, I examined the trim on 10 JGCs and found warped trim on 4 of the 10, one pretty badly. I also took a look at a Durango and noticed its trim was warped. So some JGCs have the problem and some don't. It must be a function of the way the part is installed at the factory on any particular unit.

I just got mine replaced today .... and it looks a lot better .. the rubber does not looked so dried out. I guess I will have to wait and see in a month or two to see how it looks then.

Mine looks fine after about nearly 10 months.

Any pics of the warped trim?

I don't know how to upload pictures to this forum. Are there instructions posted some where?

Use the 'Go Advanced' button under the box where you can input a reply. Then there are more options for managing attachments such as uploading jpeg files.

the windshield doesn't need to be removed for this piece to be changed out, correct?
