Clicking when brake applied !?

Why is it that when I step on my brake when the wk is in park to put it in gear I hear a click coming from under the shifter !? I never heard that before is it normal or bad

Mine does it too, its to release the shifter so you don't shift out of park without using the brake

Yup, shift lock release. all cars do it, some you hear, some you dont. Nothing to worry about.

i hope the Jeeps have a better designed lock over what my 06 charger has. the LX platform had a bad run of parts that would break and once it did you would be stuck in park. anyone have picutures of the shift assembly????
