You know it's the end of summer when...

A little off the norm for the Jeep forum but is anybody else having the same pleasure of driving down the road and trying to avoid suicidal squirrels. Having a "bit" more mass vs. the rodent I could stay the course and what happens will happen but I don't want to deal with the clean-up (on my vehicle).

Regards,
NHman

Yes the acorns in their mouths slow them down too!

Hit 'em. There is no shortage.

What is the point of purposely killing an animal crossing the road?

I know it's the end of summer when:

1) anti swamp ass seat button isn't on highest setting full time
2) the wife busts me staring lovingly at the stored winter/at rims and tires
3) my pants get tighter cause we had a dusting of snow

You mean an animal that eats your wiring, eats your bird seed, eats your vegetables, digs up what is not on the surface and chatters endlessly?
But they don't need to worry, I can't hit them even if I wanted to!

Couldn't help but laugh at that, I always hit em when I'm trying to avoid them. Oh well, they are PITA's anyway.

I generally try not to hit the tree rats, but I don't go swerving (more likely to cause an accident that way), but even slowing down won't save an animal too stupid to get out of the way and stay there.

I think I offed one earlier this week; he was clear off to the right and then tried to go for one more trip in front of the Jeep; he didn't make it.

I'm definately not getting into an accident dodging said squirrels or any small critter.

Same except if the situation is available I will slow down or otherwise avoid the rodent. Just in the interest in keeping the car clean from "rodent stuff".

Due to all the rain this summer, it looks like we are going to have a spectacular, though late, leaf season this fall. Wife and I plan on opening the pano roof and checking it out on a sunny warm day. We typically go to either southern VT or the hill towns of Albany County, NY.
