Hi, I have the same vehicle.

Iíve just put a DWTECH ST-960 Smart System push button+remote start in it. I did it by an installer. However, we ran into some problems with ACC on key switch. Apparently the system needs to be between ACC, START and KEY SENSE wires, and one cut key needs to be in ACC position, but the problem was in WJ you cannot drive in ACC because of the steering wheel lock. We ended up putting the system between IG1, and use relay to cut off IG2. The system works, but I get some error codes: P1489 and P1490.

Bottom line, if you stick to remote start it would be fine since in most systems, you need to put your key in the cylinder after you get in. It was not the case for me, since my alarm does not need the factory key at all. You just carry the fob.

How much did that run you? With everything?!

I wouldn't diy if you don't really know or understand wiring.

you will need this of something like it to use remote start, and it will make the install easy since it does the CAN door lock interface too.

My problem was no installer dared to even look at the product here in Minnesota; I called about seven, including best buy, and they all refused. So I ended up paying $400 for the install and $100 for iDataLink immobilizer unit. It took about 12 hours by the way. Total cost was $970 out the door with everything.

The question is, is it worth the hassle? Well, it depends. With this install, the car is very much like everything I wanted from the newer cars. I personally like it, and you don't have to search for your keys, you don't need them anymore, and your doors open automatically. Remote start range is also fairy good. The only place where it does not work well is when you are underground. Like when you are in -2 floor and your car is parked in ground floor. But if you are in higher floors, it works like a charm. Overall, I am pretty happy with it. I so much like the car now that I am thinking about upgrading the factory speaker system to Infinity Reference series.
