'98 5.9L Infinity System Upgrade.. have questions

sup guys,

My friend just bought a '98 5.9L from his father with 40k on it (original owner). The thing has been sitting for a few years and he wants to upgrade the entire infinity system.

Just wanted to find out how you guys are are handling this upgrade being that it has 8 speakers.

My idea was to bypass the Infinity amp (under the rear seat) and create a component setup up front by replacing the dash speakers with component tweeters and the doors with the mids and either using the sound bar or rear doors for the rear zone. All powered either by a new 4channel amp and or by the new headunit he plans to buy.

Please chime in with your ideas :D

thanks!

Anthony

I would suggest doing components up front (6.5/1) and another set in the sound bar (5.25/1). I sound deadened my entire interior and used sound blocker to cover the speaker holes in the rear doors.

that's a really good idea with the rear doors, never thought to just eliminate them all together and just run the rear speaker bar. I will keep this in mind when we go in the shopping spree for all the equipment.

thanks!
