Question about the WK2 unibody.

We are now owners of a WK2, and I have a question. I have always had a full frame system on our 4x4, and the WK2 is a unibody. Using a floor jack where are the safe points that I can jack it up from? Where can I safely place jack stands?

Thanks in advance.

According to the the Owner's Guide, there are "triangular" areas where thick metal brackets attach to the frame rail just behind the front wheel and just in front of the rear wheel. These should be used as the jacking points. As for where to place jack stands, you are on you own there.

I'm not sure if this will help you but if you go to
http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html
and choose the right owners manual for your Jeep it lists under "What to do in Emergencies" the best places to jack up your Jeep.

Buy the rock rails and then I guess you don't have to worry about jack points. Right?

Thank you, that is exactly what I was looking for. It is interesting that the picture is a "top down" view. Why do I say this? Look at the muffler.

I did think about this as an option. A very expensive option just to rotate tires.
