Stock Speaker Upgrade

I am looking to upgrade all the speakers in my Jeep. I have the bone stock cheap laredo speakers. Do you guys have any suggestions for speakers (Something mid range cost wise) and install? I have replaced speakers in a previous car and they were more or less plug n play, are Jeeps the same? Lastly, does anyone have instructions on how to remove door panels and the dash to get to them? Thanks in advance!

I definitely recommend getting the kicker amp upgrade as well if you can.

^ I upgraded to the speakers but was missing the harness. I did keep the speakers though and paired them with an RER navi, Kicker amp and sub and they sound great. For whatever reason however when I first installed the speakers on their own they did not sound good at all but after the add ons it fixed everything. Couldnt tell ya why lol

So you didnt have the BA system and when you replaced your speakers they didnt sound good until you paired then with an amp? Makes sense, but they may be a little over my head...

Polk Audio...great mid-priced speaker.
I'm in an 04, but all I did was swap out speakers for a huge improvement. Nothing beats a full blown system, but some of us don't need all that.

You can always pop the factory speakers back in if you don't like it.

go with kenwood, you can get an amp to go with the speakers for a reasonable price and get some great sound, generally aftermarket speakers will be best run off an amp.

Infinity Reference were my choice for the dash. They're FAR superior to the stockers.

X2
I did a full 6 speaker swap of Infiniti reference and love them. They sound great and aren't amped. I am running an alpine HU which gives em a little more power.

Also inexpensive. I shopped around and pieced together my system from different sites. Spent a total of only $400 including, alpine top of the line HU, 2 6.5s, 2 6x9s, 2 3.5s, dash kit and harness. You could get away with getting just the 6 speakers for around $170
