How serious is this?

So the other day I was driving and the check engine light and service electrical brake system came on at the same time. I did the key dance and the code P0068 came out on the DTC report. Now, I looked up the code on the net and it states it could be a number of things, from throttle sensor to a vacuM leak, So it's a little hard to actually pinpoint the problem since Im not a Mechanic.

I think it might have to do with the rough idle I have been experiencing eversince I bought My Jeep, which is used by the way. The day before the check engine light came on I was slowly pumping the brakes coming to a full stop. In between times it felt like my car wanted to take off and it was revving somewhat, but I only had my foot on the brakes and not the gas pedal. Them it stalled on me.I didn't think anything of it since my cars been stalling here and there but I can usually start it no problem and the service electrical brake system comes on from time to time the dissapears.

Today I drove the Jeep to work, 4 miles all together, and there were no check engine light or service electrical brake system, but the code p0068 still came up. I felt the car driving fine for the moment, but my real question is, can I drive my car to work everyday(4 miles) until about 12 days from today, ( because that's when I get paid, so I can take it to a mechanic) without having to worry that Im doing damage to my Jeep? Thanx alot for ur help.

i am pretty sure if it was a vaccum leak then your air would be blowing out of your defroster only....... at least that happened on my WJ when i had the leak.

Lets say it were a Vacuum leak, because the symptoms I looked up on the Internet fit the description, would ir be ok to drive my car until the end of the week?

Re: How serious is this?

Okay so, P0068 is "Manifold Pressure/Throttle Position Correlation.

This DTC is set when there is an unexpected high intake manifold air flow condition that exists. This can lead to increased engine speed and this puts the NGC (next generation controller) into the high air flow protection limiting mode. the high air flow protection feature does include an RPM limit for when that throttle and/ or the MAP sensor limp-in fault becomes present.

This DTC is usually set when the vacuum drops below 1.5''Hg or 50mBar with the engines RPM is greater than 2000 RPM and your throttle is closed. it is usually due to the TPS or MAP sensor failure.

There are numerous causes.

Vacuum Leak, Restricted Intake Air System, and certain resistances in the 5-volt supplies, included it becoming shorted, tps, map sensor, and lastly, the PCM.

Check the vacuum hose from the intake manifold to the brake booster.
