Key Fobs - Grand Cherokee

Hi

I am Realtor and frequently turn the Engine on and off. Often 20-30 times a day. As a result the fobs take a beating - at least the external shell.

My model (Overland) has all the feature buttons and so the replacement cost is quite high. So far two keys have stopped working all together but one was replaced under warranty. The warranty replacement is on its way out and the other original stopped working several months ago.

Has anyone explored any other options other than the dealer - both for cost and for quality of key?

thank you

ebay as scott suggested and if you still have two working keys you could program the new one yourself as save like $120

The referenced link thread for others who might need to program the third fob.

Thanks - I will be really happy when i get the key and it works. I know dealer needs to make a living also, but the dollars they seek for nearly everything is outrageous. $320 out the door for a new key programmed? Wow..

Update: Key from ebay worked like a charm. Unbelievable how easy they are to program. Cost = about $70 shipped and to my door in 5 days. The key is brand new not a refurb or used. Must have 2 working keys.

Even with new batteries? One of mine was doing that and it worked fine afterwards.

I got them from REMOTEZ4LESS . My key does not have an 'inner' key - it is just the FOB. I could not find a new FOB with a key. So the key part cannot be removed. I have 3 other keys so I didn't see the need for it. I just leave a spare in my glove box in case I need to lock the glove box. Came fast and well packaged. Best to do it now while you have 2 working keys.
