cargo compartment cover #4 and counting...

I'll make a long story short - bought my JGC a few weeks ago and everything seems fine except: cargo compartment cover #1 had a dent in it, dealer ordered cover #2, which had a dent in it, dealer ordered cover #3, which had a large scratch in it. Dealer is now ordering cover #4. Hey s**t happens I guess. The thing that bothers me though is that the cover is made in Mexico, same as the engine, which just recently had a limited recall for manufacturing defects. I would have liked to have the U.S. built engine, but it just didn't work out that way. So I'm kinda leaning heavily toward the unlimited warranty, is anyone else?

I don't know if I share your chain of logic reasoning :D but I did get a lifetime warranty from Chrysler.

my logic: made in mexico = 3 damaged cargo covers = poor Q.C. = maybe I should be worried about the Q.C. at the engine plant = extend warranty to the max just in case

Well I found it funny how you went from scratch on the cover to engine problem that you are not likely to have to the need to extended warranty :D

Speaking of US built engine - you did see the video of workers from Chrysler plant in MI drinking and smoking weed during their lunch break?

Depends 2011 or 2012

"The Pentastar engines will be made in Trenton, Michigan and Saltillo, Mexico. The Saltillo, Mexico plant is set to begin production in the 2012 model year (with parts machined in Toledo, Ohio)."

It's listed on your window sticker in the parts content information box. There are two plants assembling the 3.6L engine, one in Trenton, MI and one in Saltillo, Mexico.
