13 second passes in the 5.7 turbo cherokee

This weekend at the Monster Mopar Event in St. Louis, my Jeep put down three 13 second passes with the turbo Cherokee, along with 6 other low 14 second passes.

13.92 @ 100.52

13.90 @ 101.92

13.84 @ 102.51

All 0-60 times were in the 2.22 to 2.23 seconds. The torque management on the 5.7 Cherokee is nasty for the track, it will not allow full torque till 45 mph and then it is if you throw a nitrous switch. Really hurts the ET's and MPH. I have to get that turned off!

All in all, was quite happy with the results considering it is an all stock internals 5.7 with just the bolt on turbo running 6-7 psi. I was 9886 on the slips.

Reliability? Drove 550 miles there at 75 - 80 mph, made nine passes, and turned around and drove 550 miles back again at 75 - 80 mph, averaged 18.8 mpg. No codes or computer glitches of any kind.

Congrats! Nice numbers.
But is that 60' ft. numbers do to the turbo lag or the torque management?
When I had the 5.7L mine ran 2.0x 2.1x.
I'm sure that when you get that resolved you'll be seen mid to low 13s.
What are you using for tuning it?

Re torque managment Tim, it SUCKS! You know what they say buddy, what you gain in the 60ft, you can double at the other end :)
1.9 60ft should be attainable imo once torque limiting gone and stalling up actually helps :)

15.2 is what Daimler Chrysler advertised it on a TV commercial back in '05. And I also ran that same time with my '05 5.7L at the track.

No lag, it is strictly torque management. I can sit at the line under boost on the converter stall and launch under boost so there is no lag. The time difference in the 60ft was maybe a hundredth at best versus just leaving at an idle.

Rolling into the throttle may net a slightly lower number than stabbing it off the line also.

I mean no disrespect...

But how is Joe, with only a CAI, exhaust and CMR, only .4 behind a TURBO setup!?!?

The way his setup is now, I have him till the 1000 ft.

But Frankie, once he gets rid of tq management and ESP, then it is a different story. I have no chance.
