New here, 2006 Grand cherokee limited 5.7l

Hey everyone,

Ive been looking around the site for a little bit and not really finding out specifics about what I want to do. I was hoping you all could help me based on what I want to accomplish.

I have an 06 GC with the 5.7l hemi. I would like to do some performance mods as well as suspension. I want to stiffen it up a little and lower it just slightly - dont want to slam it.
Also I want to get some wheels, and have seen the SRT replicas but theyre sold out at oewheels. What other options are there?

As far as exhaust, with the engine shutting 4 cylinders off, does that effect the sound? Does it sound good with 8 and stupid with 4? Or what is the deal?

Thanks everyone. Look forward to the discussion.

Welcome! As for the Cutting off 4 Cylinders (MDS) it does sounds like a train or something lol. That's normal. I HIGHLY suggest getting a Diablo Predator and a CMR Tune by Johan. You can Disable the MDS and run on all 8 cylinders all the time.

Welcome. I can give you my experience so far. I have a Gibson cat back, it sounds awesome. When mds kicks on you can hear a difference, but not bad at all. It has zero drone and sounds beefy. If your looking for real loud, then look elsewhere. I also have an afe intake and superchips tuner. It definitely drives nicer, holds gear better, better throttle response, and a bit more power. The predator is another option. It will get you a little more hp, but I hear the transmission tuning is better with the superchips. That's what made me go that route. One nice feature about the predator is the cmr tune, but it costs $. Hope that helps.

I have the same, '06 5.7 Overland 4X2. Looking for good feedback on chip tuning. Keeping the tranny working smoothly is my main objective. Of course, a smooth tune is important, justcan't afford trans issues. Glad i found JG.

I would suggest a K&N or Airaid CAI. Magnaflow 40 series exhaust (http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php...+Thread&page=4) if you are wondering what it sounds like. Also Chaoul has the right idea about the tuner to get.
