6-speed in an Jeep SRT8

Has anyone ever done this? Used the tranny from the 6.1L Challenger (whatever one that is) and swapped it into a Jeep? Would that be a difficult install? I'm sure added the clutch pedal and assembly would suck, but I've seen people do it in cars -- swap from auto to manual.

meh, just thought it would be a cool conversation. It's something I would explore if I had an SRT8 :D

You would need to either swith it to rear drive only or make an adaptor plate for the transfer case to bolt up to the six speed, assuming it would allow fitment/clearence. You would also need a custom pedal box.
Not a simple job.

It's very different to simply swapping auto/manual or vice versa in a vehicle available in both forms.

driving to work in the morning at 7am, having to use my damn hands, my damn left foot....wanting to drink my coffee but I cant...

ughh I dont miss it for a second, as a daily driver I would never buy a standard vehicle, however for something I would rarely use, then possibly yes.

It would be fun but it would slow the truck down. the 6 speed Chally is slower than the auto. Throw a BuilderBill Stage 2 Valve Body like mine in an auto and it'll shift faster and harder than a stick. The only advantage would be a possibly better launch. Although my SRT cutting 1.7 60ft. times is pretty hard to beat. There have been 2 Vortech SRT8's cutting 1.57's and 1.58's. A full BBill setup is just dominating!

wow, nice!

I just think it would increase the "fun factor"

It would for sure. I know when I bought mine I drove it around for about a week in D. It's been in autostick now for 1.5 years.:D It's nice to have the stick aspect without the clutch for sure. Would be cool though to be able to rev match the downshifts though. Esp. when I get my electric cutouts put in.:D
