Re: Hooking up reverse HID's

Here is the info for anyone else looking to do this. Provided from Dan (DCSpecial) and the pictures me.

Now the 05-06s are different than the 07-09 so, you'll need to take a test light to verify this.

But the plug on your tail lamp has 5 pins inside it.
Set up like this:
X X
...X
...X
...X

So we'll number them
1 2
...3
...4
...5

#3 should be the postive going to the reverse lamp.

#5 may have 3 wires coming into it...this is the ground, one of the three is the specific wire that goes to the reverse bulb. The other two are for the other two bulbs, they all share the same pin.

This is based off of the plug that came on my LED tail lamps as they came with the 05-06 style plug which I cut off.

Again, verify this with a test lamp. Pop it in reverse (car off, e-brake on...all other lights off) and take a test lamp to pin #3 to verify that it has power.

Hope this helps.

I'd be worried about the bulb getting too warm and damaging the tail light?

Yeah but How long are you going to be in Reverse for? A good 10 seconds?

Well you worry to much! j/k:lol: I think it will be fine unless your in reverse for an excessive amount of time then I could see some damage happening.

Nice work! Did you rig up a separate switch for these babies when a tailgater is on your bumper? :D

Right, but still have to get warmer than the factory bulb or a LED... but a sweet mod none the less!
