What people sometimes forget is, there are a lot of RICH people out there. If I can sell custom rocking chairs to people for $5000-$10000 a piece, I don't see Chryco having any problems selling the ultimate SUV for 70k.

That is exactly the thing... most people don't understand the target market for this car. Heck I don't even think Jeep themselves do. There is a lot of arguments that people want this car, of course but lets be honest if you come from certain wealth you literally just buy it for the bargain on the horsepower and the fun for the price.

I tell you guys a thing, rich people don't pay above sticker, not even for much more expensive cars, they have the connections and sticker or above are insults to them and they won't go back to the dealer. So literally just stop saying that rich people will pay that, because they won't. If my dealer wants more money... he has seen me the last time, I will just go to BMW or Mercedes and buy a X5M or a G55 instead, why? Because I can (yes I will pay more, but lets assume that I am rich and I don't give a damn) and that is what a few people on here need to learn. We are in the age of the all knowing shopper and if somebody tries to price hike you, the whole world will know and will consider twice buying the car or getting it somewhere else. This car is for the upper middle class and since 2008 they have not been alive pretty much or are not spending their money waiting out the crisis.

(sorry for my language, I am foreign)

you people and this continous comment kill me.

My father-in-law was at my dealer yesterday and said how I had the new Jeep ordered. The fatty salesamn said annoyingly, "If I had a dollar for every person coming in here asking about the SRT8 I'd be rolling in it."

The dealer is getting 2. Mine and another and both are sold. His comment makes me VERY nervous about negotiating my price. I was originally entitled to Affiliate, and it was in writing, but now it is not offered so we have to strike an amicable deal. If the don't do around invoice, at my price protection cost, they can keep it and rip someone off.

Re: Jeep SRT8 on ebay...actual pictures of it in the showroom

There will bill a "right time" to purchase this vehicle. This time, however, is NOT now. Right now, there is too much hype and demand for this vehicle. Looking at the other SRT8-cars like the Chrysler 300 with its sweet nav-unit, I'd say the right time to purchase this car is the MY2014. The hype and mark-ups will be gone by then and the SRT8 will be a much better vehicle.

If I would have to chose a SRT8-model today, I'd pick the 300. $70K for this Jeep is simply ridiculous. I can see myself paying invoice for the upgraded MY2014 SRT8 - but not $70K for the current one. And the MY2014 won't be less fun to drive.;)

If I would be a current SRT8-owner (WK1), I'd simply hold on to my baby for 2 years.
