Xenon Depot, Need Help on LED project

I recently purchased a 2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo in Brilliant Black. Ive had it about 3 weeks now and absolutely love it. Im already looking to get my first project underway and could really use some help.

I have been following the posts regarding converting the tail lights to LED. I plan on doing this once I figure out the correct bulbs and to make sure they'r bright enough and have plenty of LED's per bulb. Heres the tricky part and the part I need help at.

I do volunteer work that takes me to a lot of natural and man made disasters (fires, floods, etc) and this requires me to park my vehicle in less then desirable locations. What I want to do is replace the brake lights and reverse lights with LED's but then wire them to act as strobes as well, even flashers. I was curious if anyone had any experience utilizing brake and reverse lights as emergency flashers and if its possible to pull off with LED replacements. I would appreciate any help i can get. Thanks!

to have multiple triggers you need to uise diodes so the current can only go one way.

it will be a million times easier to just strobes inside your existing lights/

What if I used an LED flasher like the one listed below. Couldn't it just make my reverse lights flash in a sequence or randomly. Similar to wig wags in the front of the vehicle but for the read and with LED bulbs?

sure you could hook that up to reverse lights BUT im no expert but if you have 2 seperate power sources set up on ONE light when you turn ONE on the current can go BACKWARDS thru the other sourceand damage it. so I think you need to add some diodes on both sources so the power cannot go backwards. thew diode will only allow current to go ONE way.

at least thats what little I know.

I understand what you're saying and it makes sense. The idea sounded much more simple in my head. Thanks for your help.

Okay, I understand what you're saying now. So the dream isn't dead just yet. My other question would be by using the Sho-me flasher and giving power to the reverse lights, would that have any effect on my vehicle thinking I'm in reverse? I don't want to screw up the vehicles computer, I just want my reverse LED's to flash without having to drill holes into my vehicle lights

just buy some strobe lights and mount them in the back window and front window. Emergency reposnders around me do that and just turn them on when they need them.

Re: Xenon Depot, Need Help on LED project

I could do that but it doesn't give enough of the noticeability I'm looking for. I had strobes in my previous grand cherokee and liked the look it gave so I would love to figure this one out and get it to work
