Max hp for the hemi

I'm interested to know what could done to improve the horsepower and how much of an increase is the engine capable of. Anyone have any thoughts? I'd guess CAI, chips, exhaust...am I missing anything?

Soon there will be some tunes available from vendors like superchips.

Apparently simply changing the rate that the ECU opens the throttle body can shave a full second of 0-60 time. Many things can be adjusted to pick up some ponies.

I plan to pick one up as soon as they are available.

Is 450 hp attainable?

With a turbo 1000+hp is attainable so yeah I think 450hp could be had.

Tune, Cam, Headers, Intake, Heads, exhaust, mid-pipe and more!

Once the tuner comes in then everything is pretty much set.

The hemi can take that beating?

If so that's amazing.

IDK about our engines, but a 392ci will be able too.

Re: Max hp for the hemi

the 5.7 engine can make about 500 RWHP without going in the motor. HOWEVER, and this is a big however, there is no current way to tune it, nor a roadmap to get there. The PCM is encrypted and there is no hack available as yet.

There was a good article in Hot Rod magazine 2-3 months ago about what breaks on the 5.7 and 6.1 engines. The 6.1 was good for another 150RWHP before it ran into issues. The ring lands and unforged bottom end are the weak links on the 5.7.

I am finally wrapping up a ported throttle body for the 5.7 WK2, and as soon as my core arrives from national backorder, the 3.6 Pentastar. We used the same design on the older WK1s, including the 2010s with the hotter 5.7 Hemi, and saw great results. I do not modify the blade except to remove minor scratching from the surface, so whatever gains we see are from leaner AFRs and increased air flow/velocity, not by throttle position/ECU trickery.

How much HP gain for a ported 5.7 in a WK2?

If you wanted blazing acceleration why buy a WK2? Most of the crossovers and other true SUVs are faster.
