2010 5.7L Questions & Predator Thoughts
I did some searching on the forum but did not come up with the answers I was hoping to obtain. So...here I am with another Predator thread.
My complaints with the WK HEMI (2010) is the MDS and the transmission never seeming to be in the right gear. While driving on the highway I absolutely cannot stand the way that MDS kicks on and off almost constantly. It drives me crazy and can't be good for the engine. I want to kill it once and for all. Putting the Jeep in 5th kills it, but then I'm running more RPM than necessary.
1. Will the Predator do this for me without any CELs? (I know it will disable it, but am I going to have adverse results immediately or over time.)
2. Is this better or worse for the longevity of the engine?
While driving slowly (20 - 30 MPH) in neighborhood type streets I notice that the engine seems to be lugging. Not surging, but...chugging or lugging. Super low RPM for the speed we are going. Any input of the throttle kicks it down a gear and causes jerky acceleration. I don't notice it with the windows up, but when they are down we definitely hear it. Jeep is a bone stock 2010.
Do you guys notice this? Is it a transmission thing or MDS improperly activating? MDS seems impossible, but I'm not completely convinced that it works right on ours in the first place.
Let me know what you guys think. Will the Predator fix this for us?

The other threads are about the non-VVT HEMI which is a different animal IMO.
