Everyone with a rc lift...
I've been thinking about putting a rough country lift kit on my wk I just wanted to hear from anyone who has the kit..... Did you install it your self if so how hard was it to do? Are you happy with the lift? Is the ride quality compromised at all? I want to do the lift and a wheel spacer hopefully within a month or two any info will be really helpful .... Thanks guys

I'm putting one on shortly. It doesn't look too difficult to install!

Re: Everyone with a rc lift...
I put it on myself. It wasn't too difficult, the kit comes with instructions. However I did have issues at first with it making noises since its metal on metal. I love the kit and it allowed me to put 265-70-17's on which are awesome!! If you do the install yourself just make sure you torque everything correctly.

.. oh yea, and i DONT have spacers and only rub at full lock on the sway bar. No problems otherwise.

I have a RC lift and love it. Keep in mind though you'll prob have to buy extended sway bar links and jeepinbyals UCA's due to the infamous clunk that occurs when adding a two inch lift. I didn't know that when I installed my lift so now I am saving money for the new mods and new tires.

I have it on my 05, also installed bilsteins at the same time, didn't do it myself but it didn't look terribly difficult, I have 255/70/17 firestone destination a/t's with 1.25 inch spacers and 0 rub at full lock

Re: Everyone with a rc lift...
Took my friend and I with air tools, spring compressors, two jacks and 2 jack stands about 4hours total in my garage (nice flat surface). I also installed new Bilstein struts/shocks, hence the spring compressor. Ride is night and day compared to stock, definitely worth doing since everything is apart.

Overall im very happy with the lift... no clunking or any noises at all!! My jeep is solid as a rock over bumps. Save your money on the JBA UCA's and the extended sway bar links, unless your stock ones are toast.

So enjoy the lift and make sure to get an alignment soon after :D

Loooooove my RC lift!! Been beating the shit outta it and it's going strong like an ox!! I def reccomend it. Had it installed cuz I dont have spring compressor. Took them 3 hours! Not gonna lie, I do want more lift and am considering the superlift... ;)

Re: Everyone with a rc lift...
What causes the infamous clunk? I have had a clunk since my 2" RC lift went on a couple months ago. I haven't been able to find what is causing it but it does bother me. New upper ball joints were installed at the same time as the lift and everything seem nice and tight up front.

Re: Everyone with a rc lift...
Did you do new struts at the same time? If so there is prob a bit of the metal tab that guides the strut into its seated position hitting off the axle, we trimmed mine and it no longer does that.

Re: Everyone with a rc lift...
No, didn't change the struts. I have been looking and when it said infamous clunk I figured maybe there was a normal problem that I wasn't aware of.
