Uconnect™ Web (WiFi) info wanted

Morning everyone!

Ok, I've searched this forum and a few others, I've googled, I've searched and read end to end these guides

- 2011_wk_owners_manual
- 2011_wk_Uconnect_users_guide
- 2011_wk_user_guide
- RER_users_manual
- RHR_users_manual

I can't find any information on the Uconnect™ Web (WiFi)
Turn your vehicle into a Wi-Fi hotspot with uconnect web. It allows every passenger in your vehicle to harness the power and entertainment value of the Internet at the same time.

Subscription required, sold separately. Accessories part # 82211856AB

I work for a networking company so... I'm not looking for how wifi, hot spotting, tethering, access points, etc. work.

Any pointers to info, who has it and how does one use it with the Uconnect/730 system.

Thanks,
BBjr

I see that it's available for the 2008-2010 WKs but I can't find it for the 2011-2012 WK2s. This vendor's web page includes a link to an installation manual.

My guess is that the product didn't take off because you can get the same functionality by adding tethering to a cell phone and then it's not restricted to the car.

And the service prices are wacky. $179 for one year or $418 for two years?

In one of the JG sessions with the WK2's engineers, one of them cited Uconnect as being available. That was several months back, however, and as you say, who needs it anyway.

Thanks guys, I did eventually find the order sheet the dealers use to enable the service. https://uconnectweb.autonetmobile.com/

Way too expensive and I have a Verizon Thunderbolt (4G) and I get 4G in most of the area I travel in and 3G almost evewhere here in NE. Except extreme norther NH and Maine. I'll continute to Hotspot off that.
