Removing side moldings
I'm going to be painting my side moldings this weekend. I've read the how to on here and it's great. My question is do the black side moldings have the clips like the chrome ones do inthe how to? Because just says heat the tape and peel off.

Thanks for your help

Re: Removing side moldings
the front doors have a small strip of 3m tape in the front of the strips. i removed my inside door panels and pushed them out slowly

very easy, there are three screws and then pressure clips. they pop right off. then you disconnect the door handle from the back and the wire harnesses.

Re: Removing side moldings
if you got one of those long assed flat head drivers lying around- use that.

open the door and you can use that to slowly bring out the moldings carefully. just take your time easing them out. the 3m tape is roughly 1 1/2" long strip on the very tip before the "grand cherokee" and theres another at the rear doors molding end the end point. use some fishing wire to loosen the tape if need so, then clean it up when u have it off. these fasteners arent fragile here, its the plastic slits on the moldings so if you take your time, theyll come off with out removing the inner door panels.
