Got a "LOUD" surprise when taking delivery!
Love my new WK2 Overland! We got the premium Alpine system, but as we started the truck to drive away from the dealership...I turn on the radio and....wait for it....BAM! FM Chanel 98.9 (the area's best hip hop and r &b) station was blaring at FULL VOLUME!!!!!!! Aside from my wife and I being startled for a split moment, I am now more concerned about what damage, if any, was done to the speakers....I turned the volume down as soon as I could, so the sound was at full volume for maybe a couple of seconds....I just hate when something like this happens and sits in the back of my head wondering if I may have a speaker problem either now or in the future because of this. Thoughts?....please...thanks!

I wouldn't stress too much. Make sure you turn your volume down before you shut the Jeep off. I have to turn my volume up quite a bit when listening to Sirius. Then if I shut it down it reverts back to am/fm but super loud. I'm now in the habit of turning everything off before I get out.

Sounds like whoever prepped the vehicle screwed up. Turn up the volume to the loudest level you are comfortable with. If all of the speakers sound good it is probably fine. If not, tell the dealer what happened. They should replace any damaged speakers under the warranty.

It sounds loud but that amplifier doesn't have a lot of power. There's no way it can damage your speakers just by operating with the volume at full.

I listen to my alpine system at wide open volume. I cannot blow them up. I want to sink mucho dollars in the jeep for a real system. Wife wont consider the idea until something happens to the stock system. The stock amp cannot hurt the speakers in my opinion. It is not too shabby for a stock system, just not clean and loud enough. A MS-8 would fix alot of the EQ issues.
