Saddle Floor Mats with Saddle Interior

Overland saddle interiors come with black dashes and black floormats. All this darkness seems like a bit much, so we ordered Lloyd Luxe replacement front and back floormats in saddle color with Jeep logo.

They are thick and seem well made, with a generous fit that has them covering slightly more area than the OEM black mats. The saddle mat color is somewhat lighter and brighter than the saddle leather seats, but close enough.

However, when a door is opened the eye immediately snaps not to the attractive interior, but to the floor mats. It's like having a great house with bright garage doors; when people look quickly, their eyes fall on the focal point: garage doors.

Bottom line, we'll use them during winter because the color is more practical in slush and mud. But come summer the OEM blacks go back on.

Autoanything.com, as they seemed to have the best (two-day sale) price at the time. Lots more material thickness in these than in the OEMs, so they feel great on the feet. But the color effect isn't at all what we'd hoped for.

Autoanything and some others will send Lloyd Luxe sample patches in desired color(s). But it's hard to tell the outcome from these thumb-sized thingies. Still, the sample colors match the color exactly of the received mats.

Will play with photos later in the week, but at first glance they don't begin to convey the negative impact I've referred to. You can get better shots of the mats alone by going to dealer websites.

Small footnotes: There is a Velcro patch on the underside of the "upper tail" of the driver's mat, presumably to keep it from flopping back. The Velcro's second half is supposed to stick onto the GC's floor fuzz, but doesn't, and the Velcro by itself doesn't grab the fuzz. Thankfully it isn't needed anyway, as the mat is thick and stiff and the floor is angled, so the mat should stay put indefinitely sans Velcro.

The Jeep logo, stitched on for dear life, is horizontal, not sideways/vertical as on the OEMs. You can choose the logo color, too. Bottom line, if I had to do it over again I might buy the Lloyd Luxe mats in black for the front (only). They feel nice and the logo looks better (to me) running side-to-side, like God intended.
