Windshield streaks

My month old Jeep's windshield has streaks and lines on it. They are all in front of driver side. They don't seem to follow the pattern of the wipers. Almost looks like it is between the glass. Has anybody had this problem? We have tried everything to remove it. http://tapatalk.com/mu/8d9e22c9-a770-af05.jpghttp://tapatalk.com/mu/8d9e22c9-a782-329b.jpg

Try rubbing alcohol on a cotton rag on the inside and rub hard.

We tried alcohol and adhesive remover. I also tried vinegar. Maybe I will try the alcohol again.

I took it to the dealer. They said they couldn't see it. It is hard to see at times. It depends on the sun or headlights at night. I took these pictures down to the dealer today. They are ordering me a new OEM windshield. Just worried about replacing it.

Why are you worried about replacing it? It is very common practice. I have had at least 2 windshields maybe 3 replaced on my WK and countless replaced on previously owned jeeps.

Mine has some light streaking on the passenger side. When I first got the Jeep, I thought it was from somebody doing a wack job on cleaning. I was wrong. Doesn't really bother me since I exterminate about 10,000 flying insects on a daily basis. LOL

He should be alert. Twice when I've had windshields replaced there was subsequent water leakage.

Best bet is to run it through a (brushless) car wash after the replacement and check for signs of water penetration. Too, listen for new groans and squeaks when going over undulating roadways, and whistling at vigorous highway speeds.

Go to your local hardware store and purchase a small container of Bonami. (sp?) Follow the instructions and clean the windshield with it. That's the recommended way to decontaminate the glass. Also, clean the blades with alcohol or replace them as they appear to be contaminated creating the streaking.

I am afraid of leaks and rattles. Just wasn't expecting to have to mess with the windshield so soon. I will have my husband pick up the Bonami cleaner tomorrow. Thanks for the input.

Be careful not to scour the part of the windshield behind the inside mirror where the applique is.

if youve tried those things and it wont come off...it could be clearcoat from the paint line. Try some VERY FINE grade steel wool. My wifes lexus was in for a minor repaint on the front and she kept complaining about the pass front window being dirty. I cleaned it several times with Stoners invisible glass and thought it was clean until I saw it in the right light. It looked similar to what your showing. Steel wooled it, then cleaned the glass and it is gone.

Use 0000 ("four ought") grade.
