Gas Pedal Question

Lately I've noticed a lot of vibration and feedback in my gas pedal. Mainly when going over very small bumps, changes in road surface, impressions, etc. Things that you'd think should barely affect the suspension; which I know mine could use some upgrades. I also have a lag in acceleration after initial pressure on the pedal. My gas pedal has a decent wiggle when moved side to side. Should the pedal be tight and is there a way to tighten it? Or is there something that is worn and probably needs replacement? I know there is the button for the pedal position and I don't want to screw up anything with that. Can anyone relate/help?

There are two studs that the pedal is attached to. I would make sure the nut on each one is tight. It might be as simple as that. I haven't looked at my pedal, but here's a diagram:

For the adjustable pedal I think there are 3 studs.
