Defroster on / heater off

I have a problem with my defroster emitting hot air even though my heater and fan are off. I just had a remote start put in and don't know if they could have messed something up or if it is unrelated to the remote start. They did install a bypass module or something like that so they didn't have to cut into any wiring. I have a 2010 grand cherokee with the basic climate control unit. I would appreciate any insight anyone can give to this problem. Thanks Stan

there is no "recirc - fresh" setting that you can control, its all dependent on the location you have your mode dial at... defrost uses "fresh" air so you will have some air flow through your hvac housing.... turn the dial all the way clockwise to a recirc position and this should resolve your issue.

Thank you for your reply. I've tried your suggestion prior to posting my problem. Not meaning to be rude, but I know how to adjust the dials for air circulation, this is not the problem. Prior to the installation of the romote start I didn't have an issue with hot air coming from the defroster. Now the only way to prevent it is to have the temp control set to the cool side of the control with the fan on. If I turn the fan off I get hot air no matter where the temp. control is set.

My jeep does the same thing, my old nissan xterra did the same thing.

The only thing i could think of could be the blend door is slightly off and not sealing?

i actually kinda like it, gets you a little air without turning the system on.
