wow....do you have an advanced auto or something like that? Pick up a chiltons and i believe it has a step by step. They can also rent you any tools you need. This really isnt a job for a novice. I would find a good trusted mechanic

3K?! Wow! Even with my rough workings on the exchange rate that's around 1900!! Very expensive.

Scott's right though, it's not for a novice, but that said if you are fairly competent it is do-able. Just be very methodical as you work. Label everything, take pics etc. As a DIY job, you could expect to spend 14 hours or so, maybe more.

I have knowledge of mechanics as I am a diesel tech semis though so this will be different but shouldn't be brain surgery. When it comes time that I am stuck on something some one can help me

What he said .. its actually surprising the amount of stuff you can do with proper instructions/directions. Good luck, you should have more than enough tools at your disposal, shouldn't be too hard with a good set of instructions.

If you are any sort of mechanic (or even mechanically inclined), you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a head off with a Chilton/Haynes manual.

There's usually nothing that complex, just a lot of stuff in the way. Something to look into was that my Mustang head bolts are TTY so you have to get new ones.
