Void Warranty?

Will a full srt8 conversion, exhaust, cia void my warranty, i know the bumpers wont obviously, but i am a little on the edge with a tune because that might void the warranty. Has anyone had any trouble

I have not had any issues with MY dealership yet your satisfaction may vary :) It helps to build a relationship with the service advisor or service manager (gift card to Dunkin' perhaps?). It goes a long way.

As I understand it, any part(s) you install/have installed are no longer covered under warranty. Only factory installed parts are warrantied by the manufacturer. The remainder of your vehicle is still covered by applicable warranty and SOME mod parts have warranties (perhaps?).

One thing to note:
The dealer isn't the determining authority on warranty repairs. They are the ones who DO the repair yet the factory (ie, manufacturer) ultimately "pays" for it. So the dealer will always have a good idea on what the factory will approve and won't approve from experience. A 'factory rep' determines the final outcome. That person can deny a warranty claim if they determine that a) the part that failed is not factory-installed or b) the part that failed was affected by a modified part (ie, tune shut off knock sensors and you had detonation that blew a cylinder!!! yikes!). I think you get the drift . . .

Lastly, I could be wrong but as I understand it, warranties are not voided, repair claims under warranty can be denied based on modification, abuse etc. Once that happens, an entry is posted on your vehicles service record (based on VIN) for future reference.

hope this helps!

Okay thank you i was thinking the same thing, I dont think they will give me a hassle for exhaust and the srt8 bumpers. But for the tune and any other things that may void it, CIA i could remove but to not have any issues ill get a mopar one and it should be good. What dealership do u bring your truck to to get its service?

They have to prove the modification caused the trouble

If you have a 3.7 I would just do the cosmetic changes because even with a tune, CAI, exhaust, ported throttle body, and anything else you want to try to add that 3.7 is still a dog. IMHO the money you would spend trying to get any performance out of that engine could be better spent in other areas.

This.

So if I do the srt8 suspension will it void the warranty. And soon my extended will kick in, ik the bumpers or rims won't void the warranty hopefully.. But I just don't want to do the suspension if it voids it.. Also an srt8 exhaust or any exhaust will that void the warranty

They can't void your warranty just because you modified something. They have to prove the modified part caused the failure. If they can't prove it yet still give you trouble, mention the Magnusun-Moss Warranty Act and they'll back down.

Say you install aftermarket wheels and the wheel flies off while you're driving, which causes lots of undercarriage damage or worse. The dealer could deny warranty work on the basis of improperly installed wheels (ie: you didn't torque the lug nuts properly).
